Good-bye from KYW on 12 June 09

IPBiz is glad to note that at least one person appreciated the above-post of the 1950's vintage test pattern that KYW put up.
KYW continued to broadcast instructions on the digital switchover. The last analog broadcasts of entertainment from New York City were on channels 5 and 9, which went to midnight. Channel 9 had an episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent, a commercial, and the screen went blank.

Bridgewater, New Jersey, in analog days, benefitted by being able to receive New York and Philadelphia broadcasts. Not so good now. Note the text from abcnews about the weakness of digital signals.

Thanks for posting this! I saw three local stations' analog shutdowns, and this was my favorite. The Philco/W3XE graphic was an especially nice touch.
